Description
This painting was commissioned by a woman working for a state-owned enterprise in China. She wanted to portray herself as the protagonist, presenting a complex and contradictory state. In the painting, her eyes are glazed over, and her expression is a mixture of pain and pleasure, as if she is immersed in her own fantasy and unable to escape. A female colleague next to her has a look of surprise on her face, as if she cannot believe what she is seeing.
The employer hopes to use this painting to showcase the twisted psychology she experiences in a repressive environment. Initially, she felt disgusted by the bureaucracy and interpersonal relationships in her workplace, and confused about her career development. She longed to change the status quo, but her pale efforts only resulted in humiliation. Unable to change reality, she began to crave domination and recognition, but could only satisfy herself through masturbation. Through this painting, she expresses her inner repression and dissatisfaction. She hopes to release her desires and find her sense of existence in this way, making her both pathetic and lamentable.
